The Synaesthetic Living Calendar allows you to _hear_ the passage of time. The living culture of kombucha scoby is placed on a sensing box containing a photoresistor connected to Daisy. As the time passes, new layers of scoby grow on top of each other, inhibiting the light captured by the sensor and ultimately resulting in a different sound pitch. The system becomes a calendar that "sounds" differently while time passes. The project challenges the idea of being constantly notified of newness, as the scoby layers grow slowly, so the temporal change can be perceived once every week, at the organic pace of the living organism.
